Abstract: The recording of Event-Related brain Potentials (ERP's) and the correlates of spoken word processing in the ERP signal are addressed, as one major goal of the current thesis is to relate the processing of word prosody to the electrophysiological response of the brain. Electrophysiological correlates of the processing of word prosody might allow to draw a more detailed picture on the time course of spoken word processing as it is provided so far by behavioral methods.
