Abstract: Polymetallic (Mo,V,Nb) nitride and carbide phases are synthesized by thermal treatment of solution derived precursor materials. Hexamethylenetetramine (HMT) is an useful carbon and nitrogen source. Structural analysis (XRD) gives no indication for segregation of monometallic phases. The target compounds are tested for their catalytic activity in the oxidative propane dehydrogenation and found active over extended time on stream.
