Abstract: Neutral silver cluster CO compounds have been produced by pick-up of silver atoms by large CO droplets. FTIR spectra in the CO stretching frequency region reveal the presence of both fully covered Agn clusters for n ≈ 45 and silver cluster carbonyl complexes Agn(CO)+m for n ≤ 15. Cationic Agn 1 ≤ n ≤ 15 and m = 1, 2, 3 were produced by electron impact ionization and identified mass spectrometrically. A post ionization fragmentation mechanism has been proposed to explain the abundance pattern of ionic distributions.
