Zusammenfassung: This Bachelor thesis was developed in the frame of the GERDA (GERmanium Detector Array) group, who is searching for the neutrinoless double beta decay of 76/32Ge. Thereby the classification of the neutrino as a Majorana or Dirac particle shall be decided. In the case of a positive detection of this decay its lifetime can be measured and thereby the effective mass of the neutrino will be determined. To achieve this goal, enriched Germanium semiconductor detectors functioning as source and detectors alike are used. There are two different technologies for detectors available, of which the BEGe type is examined in this thesis. Measurements were done on two different detectors made of depleted Germanium to characterize them with regard to their resolution, deadlayer and active volume. For the resolution, the influence of the applied voltage was examined, for the deadlayer the first measurements determined the mean thickness of the deadlayer at each surface of the detector. Further studies looked for inhomogeneities in these deadlayers. The active volume was quantified and checked for consistency with the measurements of the deadlayer. The knowledge gained can be transferred to the final enriched detectors still to be produced.
