 Abstract: Milagro is a water Cherenkov detector that continuously views the entire overhead sky at TeV energies. The large field-of-view of 2 steradians combined with the long observation time makes Milagro the most sensitive instrument available for the study of large, low surface brightness sources such as the gamma radiation arising from interactions of cosmic radiation with interstellar matter and for the search of steady and transient sources. Recent development in the analysis techniques used by the Milagro collaboration significantly improved the sensitivity of the Milagro detector. Here we report on observations of gamma-ray sources in the region of Galactic longitude included between 30 and 220 degrees and Galactic latitude between -10 and 10 degrees, on the evaluation of the Galactic diffuse emission from the same region and on the observation of long time variability of Mrk 421.
