Abstract: We have started an experimental program to study the properties of the ngeative positronium ion Ps-, a leptonic three-body system consiting of a positron and two electrons. As a first step we are presently remeasuring the dacay rate of the ion using a new method. Our present value of Γ=2.093(16)ns-1 is already a factor of five more precise than the only available previous result.
