Abstract
In some mountain streams of Central Europe the extent of differentiation and complexity of coenoses of the tribes of free-living Helminthes and Annelida in exposed lotic habitats have been investigated. Some factors ecologically separating two species of rotifers which both live in diatom layers between sand ripples and both feed upon diatoms are discussed.
