Abstract

A female Mallard was found breeding near the Döll-Beck in the Rhönhills (Hesse). The animal was killed by a predator and so an examination of stomach-contents became possible. A lot of Gammarids and benthic insectlarvae could be determined, and so it could be proved, that even in swift becks Mallards are able to feed predominally on limmnic resources.
