Abstract
Pseudorthocladius rectangilobus sp. n., a new chironomid species from Hunsrück (West Germany) - The new species can be easily distinguished from the other palaearctic species of the genus (Ps. albiventris GOETGH., Ps. curtistylus GOETGH., Ps. filiformis KIEFF., Ps. imperfectus GOETGH., Ps. pilosipennis BRUND.) by its characteristic hypopygium which shows a rectangular basal lobe.
