Abstract
Revisional remarks on the European species of Metreletus DEMOULIN (Siphlonuridae, Ephemeroptera) are presented. All four taxa described from various countries proved to be conspecific, the valid name being Metreletus balcanicus (ULMER 1920) = M. goethgebueri (LESTAGE 1938) syn. nov. = M. hessei (FIZAINE, 1931) syn. nov. = M. hungarica UJHELYI 1960 syn nov. Among females of the French population two different forms are found, normal ones and abnormal females with pseudogonopodes of variable shape at the 9th sternite.
