Abstract
Abstract A review of previously described kinds of malformations in Plecoptera is presented together with descriptions of: 1.serial multiplication of secondary ♂ characters in Leuctra hippopus Kempny; 2. anomalous abdominal segmentation in Capnia bifrons (Newman); 3. a ♂ L. hippopus with plurisegmented cerci and unmodified 10th tergum; 4. a ♂ Nemurella pictetii Klapálek with subgenital plate and paraprocts largely resembling what is normally found in more generalized Nemouridae. The last two cases correspond to evolutionary stages through which the respective taxa must have passed during phylogeny.
