Abstract
Abstract Drift and upstream migration of Gammarus fossarum KOCH were measured quantitatively in a 10 m long section of the Rohrwiesenbach over a period of nearly 18 months. Fluctuations of the Gammarus-drift followed a similar shape of time as in open tributaries. Upstream migration counterbalanced some 50 % of the drift. So calculations of the Gammarus-production must include a certain part of drifted material.
