Abstract
This conference was the second annual meeting of the EU-network “The Quantum Structure of Spacetime and the Geometric Nature of Fundamental Interactions”. It took place from September 13–20, 2001, in Corfu, andwas part of the Corfu Summer Institute and 7th Hellenic Summer School on Particle Physics (31. August–20. September 2001). During the workshop invited speakers, being leading international scientists in their .elds, as well as members of the EU-network were reportingon recent developments in stringtheory , M-theory and quantum field theory. The local organizers, in particular Prof. George Zoupanos, have provided an excellent and stimulatingatmosphere for the workshop and the discussions around it. We are grateful for the hospitality provided by the local organizers
