Abstract
An algorithm is described for the computer generation of realistic pictures, from any direction, of a solid object initially specified by a three-dimensional array of density values suitably thresholded; slightly modified, the algorithm can also be used to produce directly comparable pictures of a solid surface specified by a two-dimensional array of height values.
