Abstract
Attempted "to integrate the contributions and interactions of the participants in discussing the central concepts and data on sensory transduction." The following aspects of sensory modalities are included: "(a) the ultrastructural features and chemical and electrophysiological properties of visual receptors and transduction, (b) the site of transduction in mechanoreceptors, (c) the mechanosensitivity of motile cilia, (d) the complexities of the electrical receptor mechanisms, -and= (e) chemoreceptors, both gustatory and olfactory, of insects and animals.
