要旨
In this study the fragmentation dynamics of nitrogen molecules during photoionization is investigated. A pump-probe streaking scheme with a fs XUV pump pulse at 59.4 eV and a fully synchronized strong THz pulse with a wavelength of 152 μm as the probe pulse is used. Thereby the shape of the THz pulse is mapped onto the momentum distribution of the emitted electrons. The use of a reaction microscope allows the reconstruction of the three dimensional particle momenta and therefore provides a tool for the analysis of temporal shifts in photoionization in dependence on energies and angles. While the delay in photoemission is found to depend on the kinetic energy of the outgoing electrons, no trend for different alignments of the molecular axis with respect to the XUV’s polarization axis or on the angle between the flight directions of the outgoing electron and the ion are discovered. Qualitative agreement of the delay in photoemission with a theoretical model is observed.
