Abstract
Ca-3[MnN3] (orthorhomb. Cmcm (Nr. 63); a = 842.6(1), b = 1024.7(2), c = 501.4(1) pm; Z = 4) was prepared by reaction of mixtures of Li, Ca and Mn (molar ratio 6:1:1) in tantalum crucibles with nitrogen (1 atm) at 900 degrees C. The crystal structure contains distorted trigonal-planar anions [MnN3](6-) with C-2v-symmetry (Mn - N: 179.4(4) pm and 179.9(5)pm; N-Mn-N: 114.7(1)degrees and 130.6(2)degrees). Ca-3[MnN3] is an isotype of Ca-3[CrN3] and Ca-3[VN3].
