Abstract
A new auride with metallic character is a description of Ca3AuN, which crystallizes in the cubic Perowskite structure. The nitrogen atom is in the center of an octahedron of calcium atoms, and calcium and gold together form a cubic face-centered arrangement. The formula Ca32+Au-N3- . 2e - is confirmed by the results of band structure calculations. Circle = Au, o = Ca, circle = N.
