Abstract
The Kondo-lattice system CeCu"2Si"2 exhibits below Tapprox.=1 K characteristic properties of a Fermi liquid. A transition into a superconducting state is observed at Tsub(c)approx.=0.5 K. The height of the specific-heat jump as well as the slope of the upper critical field curve at Tsub(c) indicate that the description of this phase transition requires Cooper pairs formed by heavy fermion quasiparticles. Superconductivity is found to be hindered by a small amount of spurious phases, which can be removed, to a large extent, by proper annealing. Apart from this, it also appears possible that, even in chemically pure polycrystalline CeCu"2Si"2, both the electronic specific heat and the superconducting properties are sensitive to the mechanical state of the sample.
