Abstract
We report dc-magnetization measurements M(T,H) on a single crystal of YBa2Cu3O7-δ using a SQUID magnetometer. From the M(T,H) data we determined the lower critical field Hc1(T). For both orientations of the field, parallel and perpendicular to the c-axis, we find remarkable anomalous enhancements of H∥c1(T) and H∥c1(T) for T < 40K compared to the behavior expected from the data for T > 40K.
