Abstract
We investigate the reheating process in pre-big-bang string cosmology estimating the amount of moduli and gravitinos produced gravitationally and in scattering processes of the thermal bath. We find that those abundances always exceed the limit imposed by big-bang nucleosynthesis and we point out various mechanisms which provide the entropy necessary to dilute those dangerous relics. This entropy production can be viewed as the birth of the hot big-bang era in pre-big-bang string cosmology.
