Abstract
Armutsbekämpfung durch Mikrokredite ist ein weltweit anerkanntes Instrument der marktwirtschaftlichen Entwicklungshilfe. Aber führt das Konzept wirklich zu wachsendem Wohlstand bei den Kreditnehmern oder profitiert vielmehr nur die Finanzindustrie, die ihren Kunden höchste Zinsen abverlangt und sie dann verschuldet zurücklässt, wie Kritiker betonen? Die Kooperationsveranstaltung von Deutschlandfunk und Körberstiftung geht dieser Problematik in der Mittwoch-Diskussion nach.
