Abstract

By loading from the gas phase C₆₀ can be incorporated into molecular sieves. C₆₀ uptake in the micropore system of the aluminophosphates VPI-5 (picture on the right) and AlPO₄-8 was proven by combined thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis, IR spectroscopy, and sorption measurements. The preliminary NMR results give indications that the free isotropic rotation of C₆₀ in these compounds is restricted.
