Abstract
Microporous crystalline aluminophosphates, especially substituted modifications, have many potential applications in optics. As a first step, an optimized hydrothermal synthesis is described that produces large, high optical quality, single crystals of Cr-containing silicoaluminophosphate (Cr-SAPO-5), see Figure, which, when calcined, exhibit photoluminescence.
