Abstract
It is shown by means of PIC (particle-in-cell) simulations that in magnetized plasmas with pressure gradients local charge separation occurs due to different ion and electron gyration radii. The dimensionless ratiolambda = n(p)/m/(epsilon(0)B(2)) being the dielectric susceptibility (with the plasma density n(pl), the mass m and the magnetic field strength B) is the main parameter in the analysis.
