Abstract
Comment les prix des billets de chemin de fer ont évolué d’une tarification simple proportionnelle aux kilomètres parcourus au système actuel, souvent qualifié de complexe, basé sur le "yield management" afin d’optimiser le remplissage des trains et de maximiser les revenus : c’est le thème de ce dossier.
This article describes how the price of railway tickets has evolved from a simple fare system based on the number of kilometres travelled to the current system, often considered to be complex and based on yield management in order to optimise the volume of passengers on trains and to earn maximum revenue.
