Zusammenfassung
Two-dimensional driven granular matter exhibits a number of nonequilibrium steady states such as \undulations", \Leidenfrost eect" and \convection rolls" that have been found both in experiments and molecular dynamics simulations. We study this system by solving the granular Navier-Stokes equations and employing direct numerical simulations. The Leidenfrost eect is reproduced and for the rst time, convection rolls are observed in a hydrodynamic model of granular matter. Classiers are developed for distinguishing the nonequilibrium steady states in the continuum representation of elds. The data is arranged according to two dimensionless control parameters and combined into a phase diagram. Lastly, the comparison to previous work on the subject is drawn.
