Photofragmentation of CS2 molecules using intense UV radiation from a XeCl laser has been studied by coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS). Both atomic and molecular resonances have been used to monitor the time-dependent fragmentation of CS2 into CS, S and S2.
