Abstract
Introduction: Studying endogenous chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) effects always requires the handling of competing effects such as direct water saturation and macromolecular MT. We want to compare different spillover and macroMT corrections for pulsed CEST experiments with a new normalization MTRRex. For verification, amine proton exchange of creatine in solutions with different agar concentrations is probed.
Theory: As spin-lock theory can be applied to CEST [1],[2], we employ the formula for normalized steady-state magnetization after irradiation at label or reference scan:.
