Abstract
Seit Jahren wird Deutschland für seine hohen Leistungsbilanz- und Haushaltsüberschüsse kritisiert. Allerdings wird dabei oft übersehen, dass Europas größte Volkswirtschaft bereits wichtige Schritte unternommen hat, um gegen bestehende Ungleichgewichte anzugehen – und dass Deutschland nicht der „fixer of last resort“ für die Währungsunion sein kann.
