Abstract
By vacuum vapour phase pyrolysis of the cyclic disulfones 7–9 at 580 C 0.01 Torr the sterically strained [1.n]paracyclophanes 1–3 were obtained in excellent yields. The lowest members of this series 1 (n=5) and 2 (n=6) were not accessible by other methods so far.
