Abstract
A pulsed supersonic valve used for gas injection into an electron beam ion trap
allows analyzing charge exchange within a short timeframe while increasing the
yield of photons for the desired process. The aim here is to extract charge exchange
properties, induced by a pulsed injection and to compare the obtained spectra with
the Multi-Channel Landau-Zener calculations. As a result of the pulsed injection
of H2, spectra of charge exchange withO8+ und O7+ were obtained which, by their
high intensity, dominateted other in photon emission resulting processes. Thus it
was possible to measure charge exchange during the magnetic trapping mode and
electron beam mode aswell.
