Abstract
With the use of Electron-Beam-Ion-Traps (EBITs) highly charged ions can be
produced to investigate quantum electrodynamic corrections to atomic structure
calculations. For this objective a continuous scan from 570eV to 750eV was measured at the P04-Beamline at the Electron-Synchrotron PETRA III with the use
of a portable miniature EBIT. Resonances Kα
to Kk of heliumlike (He-like) oxygen
and also Kβ
to Kδ of Li-like Oxygen have been recorded with a resolution
of ΔE/E ≈ 6 · 10-4 in this scan. The accuracy of the nominal Beamline calibration
was evaluated and measurement dependent systematics determined. Out of
a extrapolation of the He-like lines the ionisation energy of He-like oxygen was
determined with a uncertainty of 16meV. Regarding the Li-like lines various decay
channel were observed and analysed in their respective deexcitation spectra.
Especially Kδ which has almost no Auger decay channel and subsequently a natural
linewidth of only few meV is particulary interesting for the study of QED
corrections in three-electron systems.
