Zusammenfassung
The aim of this study was to measure Cere
bro-Spinal Fluid (CSF) velocities and flow
patterns caused by heartbeat and respirator
y phase. An optimized flow-sensitive double-gated cine balanced Steady-State Free Precession (bSSFP) sequence was designed and implemented, together with a computerized system that provided visual feedback to the scanned subject in order to synchronize breathing phases and eartbeats. The high signal intensity given by CSF using
this sequence allowed accurate measurement of velocities, and the dependence of flow patterns on cardiac and respiratory phase was confirmed and
quantified.
