Zusammenfassung
MR spectroscopy is one of the most promising applications of 7T human MR-systems, since it profits from SNR gain as well as increased spectral resolution. But the low achievable maximum B1 field strength limits the bandwidth of conventional amplitude modulated RF pulses. In combination with a largely increased spectral separation an undesirably strong chemical shift displacement artefact
occurs resulting in distorted metabolite ratios and artefacts due to inappropriate shimming and water suppression. We propose the combination of frequency modulated excitation, refocusing and saturation pulses for precise MRS and MRSI localisation at 7T under consideration of strict B1 and SAR limits.
