Abstract
Soil samples were collected in eight different areas of the colombian-venezuelan region paramo (3200 - 4600 m above sea-level) - especially in the parts with vegetation of Espeletiinae (Asteraceae).
Some physico-chemical properties were examined and the mesofauna was collected by using Berlese-funnels and direct observation of the samples. Some of the properties common to the major part of the
samples (e. g. AC-profiles, absence of litter, relatively rich mesofauna, high abundance of Enchytraeidae) and some differences (e. g. different maternal materials of soils) are discussed. [in German]
