Abstract
Stemmiulida (Millipedes) are recorded for the first time for Brazil: three new species belonging to the genus Prostemmiulus were gathered in Amazonian forests in the vicinity of Manaus. One of them
(P. adisi) appears to be adapted to living in inundation areas. It is possible to give the segmentary formula
for all stages of post-embryonic development, because the number of specimens collected is adequate (more than 1500).
