Abstract
At the beginning of September 1987, at the end of the dry season, nine plankton and littoral
samples were collected from different shallow waters near the Biological Station Panguana (Peru). 101
taxa (incl. preservation artefacts) were found during the investigation. Most are cosmopolitan; only 12
are known to be subtropical or tropical species. Microcodides chlaena (GOSSE 1886) and Cephalodella
boettgeri nov. spec. are new for the Neotropics. In addition several remarkable species are discussed:
Cephalodella gigantea REMANE 1933; Cephalodella hollowdayi KOSTE 1984, Euchlanis lyra myersi
(KUTIKOVA 1959), Lecane (M.) marchantaria KOSTE & ROBERTSON 1983, Polyarthra remata
(SKORIKOV 1896) and an unidentifiable Testudinella spec.
