Abstract
Seven specimens of Dolichowithius mediofasciatus MAHNERT (one female, two males and four
tritonymphs) were collected, each attached to the abdomen of Platypus sp. (Platypodidae). Female beetles
were caught with a Pennsylvania light trap, while males were collected with an attraction/interception trap.
Both were installed in the vicinity of Manaus (Amazonas), from September 1987 until January 1990.
Another twenty-nine specimens of D. mediofasciatus (nine males, ten females and ten tritonymphs), are
supposed to be phoretic as they were found in the trap bottles with preservative solution (alcohol). The
pseudoscorpions occurred more frequently during the rainy season, mainly between December and January.
