Abstract
Observations on the sexual behavior and oviposition of Stenacris fissicauda fissicauda (Bruner,
1908) (Orthoptera, Acrididae).- The sexual behavior of Stenacris fissicauda fissicauda was observed in the field
and laboratory, with no differences being found in behavior in these two environments. This semi-aquatic
grasshopper can copulate many times until oviposition. The oviposition is endophytic (plant tissue) in Paspalum
repens Berg. (Poaceae) and four other species of aquatic macrophytes which are common in Central Amazonia.
