closely related
to
the
members
of
the
Prolificae
-
sectio
i. e.

prolifica
(GREV.)
GOM.,

agardhii
GOM.,
0.
rubescens
D.C.
ex
GOM.
as
well
as
to
0.
mougeotii
KÜTZ.
ex
FORTI,
allows
for
a
re-examination
of
the problematic diagnostic criteria involved
in
the
systematics
of
these
taxa.
The
lack
of
sufficient
diagnostic criteria for the
distinction between
0.
mougeotii
KÜTZ.
ex
FORTI
and
0.
mougeotii
f.
major
ELENK.
is
worthnoticing. Additionally
is stressed
the strong
relation
of
0.
agardhii
var.
isothrix
to
0.
mougeotii.
The
organism found
is presently
classified
as
Oscillatoria
cf.
agardhii
var.
isothrix
SKUJA.
The
need
of
revising
the
taxonomic status of
the
above mentioned
taxa
is emphasized.
