Abstract
The DNA of several independent terbutryn-resistant mutants of Rhodopseudomonas viridis has been isolated.

Sequence analysis of the L subunit gene of the reaction center encoding the herbicide binding site shows a double-mutation: serine L223 is changed into alanine and arginine L217 into histidine.
