Abstract
New double perovskites ALaCuOsO6 (A = Ba and Sr) displaying complete A‒ and B‒site order have been synthesized and their magnetic properties studied. They crystallize in a tetragonal cell with space group I4¯. The octahedral tilt system a0a0c− observed is complying with the space group symmetry. Both the compounds show predominant antiferromagnetic interactions at high temperature and order magnetically below Néel temperatures of 25 K (BaLaCuOsO6) and 50 K (SrLaCuOsO6).
