Abstract
Peculiarities of formation of outgoing limb radiance under non-LTE conditions in spectral lines of CO2 15-mu-m absorption band are investigated for slant paths with tangent heights 50-110 km. High resolution spectra of non-LTE limb radiance are calculated. Variations of spectra stipulated by variations of kinetic and vibrational temperatures are analyzed. Possibility is shown of retrieval of vibrational temperature vertical profiles from limb radiance measurements in 15-mu-m CO2 band. The value of optimal spectral resolution for solving this problem is obtained.
