要旨
RATE constants of radiation-induced chemical reactions, or lifetimes of intermediates, can be measured by the rotating sector method. This is usually done by evaluating the final product yield as a function of pulse frequency. Thus, Freeman, Van Cleave and Spinks examined the formation of hydrochloric acid in aqueous solutions of chloral hydrate under ionizing irradiation. They found a mean chain lifetime of about 0.1 sec.
