要旨
The "coefficient of restitution" $\epsilon$ is a measure of the energy which
is retained when a ball bounces. This can be easily and accurately measured in
an "at home" experiment. Here, for a gas-filled ball such as a tennis ball, we
construct a simple two-parameter model to describe how $\epsilon$ changes as a
function of temperature. A comparison with data shows good agreement.
