Abstract
We study the influence of positional disorder on the optical properties
of metallic photonic crystals. Two disorder models are implemented,
namely frozen-phonon disorder and long-range disorder. We calculate the
two-point correlation functions, analyze the Fourier transforms of the
spatial arrangements, and present experimental extinction spectra of
the different disordered photonic crystals. (c) 2006 WILEY-VCH Verlag
