Abstract
The electrical and mechanical properties of paper made of single wall
carbon nanotubes (SWNT) were studied after a two-step treatment: (1)
gamma-irradiation and then (2) chemical functionalization with SOCl2.
Each of the steps affected the properties of the NT-paper increasing
considerably its Young modulus and its electrical conductivity This is
reflected in optical absorption and Raman spectra, which show a change
in the electronic structure after chemical functionalization. (C) 2003
