Abstract
The new boride ErNi7.9B2 is synthesized, and its crystal structure is
determined by single-crystal x-ray diffraction: sp. gr. C2/c, new
structure type, a = 1.6626(2) nm, b = 0.9525(1) nm, c = 1.0686(1) nm,
117.76(1)degrees, R-F = 0.0399. The crystal-chemical features of
ErNi7.9B2 are discussed.
