Abstract
We discuss magnetoresistance oscillations of a two-dimensional
electron gas in a rectangular-symmetric lateral superlattice
defined by weak electric and magnetic fields. We demonstrate
how guiding-center drift along closed orbits can lead to a
suppression of commensurability oscillations and a strongly
anisotropic resistance. with high- and low-resistance
directions that can be interchanged by tuning the magnetic
field. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
